Late afternoon....on a day that was cool....Alberta kind of cool....and the evening prior we had
experienced what can only be described as "ice fog" .... everything ..... trees .... barbed wire on the
fences .... condensation that had built up around the car antenna .... was frosted ... a very surreal appearance to the day ....

This particular location .... somewhere just south of Red Deer, Alberta .... just out for a drive ... enjoying
the day .... and an area of the country until that time I had been unfamiliar with ....

Came around a turn at the top of the hill .... and was amazed at the starkness ... and stillness of what lay before me.

In a strangely calming way ... it was like feeling that you and you alone inhabited this place ... this time ....
this earth .... The lone tracks ... could have been placed .... years ago ... or mere moments ....
In that initial glance ... time did indeed stand still ...

It seemed only fitting that that single moment of discovery
should be captured ... before life as we know it .... intruded back upon the magic ... of the road home.
