This was taken when my wife and I were visiting Kauai in February of
2006.
The Waimea Canyon is sometimes referred to as the Grand Canyon of
the Pacific.
Many folks don't get this far up the canyon even though it
is easily accessible via car and a very short stroll.
We had gotten up
early to view the sunrise from the Kalalau Lookout.
After having the
sunrise to ourselves we drove back down the canyon road, taking photos
along the way. This was our first stop, and as it was still early
morning gave some great light and a bit of mist.
OM-4t Tokina 24-40 ATX f/2.8 Kodak Elite Chrome. Slide Scanned with
Minolta Dimage Dual Scan III scanner.
Exposure data not recorded, but I would guess f/11 or f/16. I did basic
retouching & adjustments
and cropped to 8.5x11 in Elements 5.0, otherwise no computer manipulation.
Photo was taken about 8am or so.
