The grass around here doesn't just die when winter's coming, it occasionally manages to turn interesting colours first.
Weirdly, only a few plants change colour -- you don't get entire lawns turning red, cool though that would be.
Relevance to my photography: I work close enough to the river here in Calgary
that I can wander down there at lunch; thus I have a heck of a lot of photos of riverside seasons changing.
