Lyttelton Harbour is on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
It is an old volcano that has been dead for about 80 million years, and reputedly was eroded
from the centre out by water. It is the site also of a busy shipping and fishing port.
This picture, taken from high on the western crater wall, shows the landscape at the head of the harbour.
