Light falloff: Corner light falloff was near undetectable at any aperture, including wide open. Rating: outstanding.
Distortion: Pincushion distortion was light enough to be nearly undetectable.
Overall lens rating:Outstanding. This current lens is a stunning improvement over the Contax T2's already pretty-darn-good 38mm f/2.8, and would comfortably outrank the other two cameras tested in Popular Photography's "Posh Point & Shootout" of September 1994. Given its exceptional performance in flare, light falloff, and distortion tests, we are comfortable calling it the best point-and-shoot lens we have so far tested.

CONCLUSION: Given the lens, $700 doesn't seem so expensive. Actually, it seems rather a bargain.
